Today was the best part of the week, where we had the privilege of presenting each of the families we built for this week the keys to their new homes.
This is an emotional experience that is difficult to describe, where we are blessed to be able to present a family with a gift that is far more meaningful to them than anything we could give each other back home. Some people cry, some laugh and smile, and others are almost too overwhelmed for words. It’s a beautiful and poetic way to experience the grace of giving and receiving from full hearts.
After the key ceremony we had a blast watching the kids knock the candy out of the pinatas. Wow, can those kids ever swing! It’s also incredible how fast the candy disappears off the ground, and ends up in pockets, hats, and shirts!
We then had an emotional goodbye with Pablito and his family, where we prayed over them and asked for God’s protection and strength as they continue to bless people in the communities around them every day.
