Cloverdale Fieldhouse

Cloverdale Field House New Build for the City of Surrey

The City of Surrey project is a two level, slab on grade, 6,125 square foot new build to serve both the local community and Surrey United Soccer. The project was designed to look like a red barn with an agricultural theme.

The main floor included change rooms, washrooms and a community room. The second floor is a dedicated space for Surrey United Soccer and has limited-access meeting spaces.

Novacom was responsible for the entire build, site servicing, parking lot and finished landscaping. While a relatively simple look, it was a more complicated build. Exterior insulation to improve overall energy efficiency and air tightness, a hidden gutter system to achieve the clean lines of the “barn style” look, and a WhisperGlide Door system opening up the upper floor to an outdoor deck and viewing area looking over the playing field.

Working with the City of Surrey on multiple projects, we have learned the importance and nuances of working with a municipality.  Each City has different standards, public scrutiny and the importunate of a public image and a clean/professional construction site must always be top of mind, and the important of handover with the city’s operations department including system demonstrations and training to ensure a smooth transition from construction to ownership.
